5/26/2023 0 Comments Lagu kuda kepang![]() ![]() We immediately called our neighbours as he is a religious practitioner. He then gets up from the bed and start to the the ritual dance, very gracefully as if he’s been practicing while singing the song but in a lovely woman’s voice. Me and my housemates tried to wake him up but he keeps humming the melody louder. Shortly after, he was speaking gibberish in his sleep, and suddenly started to hum that song. He thought maybe the phone is out of battery so went to charge it and go to sleep. Once he finished, his phone suddenly turned off. Until one day, my roommates thought it will be funny to actually google the actual song and listen to it till the end. ![]() But, no one has dared enough to go and listen to the original song. ![]() So, that is a myth that has been told generation by generation to the Malaysians. In the modernize version of the song, only 2nd, 4th and 6th princess were mentioned, because, the odd numbered princesses powers are too powerful to overcome. This song is used to play by the shaman as an act of negotiation with the princess which lead by a princess called (Puteri Tujoh aka the 7th Princess). This song is called (Ulek Mayang) *I’ll link it at the end. In an old Malaysian’s myth, there’s a song that used to called princesses of the seas that capture fisherman that they attracted to. This is the first time I’m writing here so I offer my apology in advance.
